Slowing Down

Admittedly, my biggest blunders can usually be traced back to nervously rushing through something and can be easily solved by slowing down to think clearly - something most of us can identify with I'm sure. As a photographer, film can be a great tool to utilize when I find myself rushing through life. It forces me to stop and think about what I'm trying to accomplish. It encourages me to visualize the work before I release the shutter, and engage more intentionally with the subject. While I do most of my professional work in the digital format, I try to always have at least one ongoing side-project incorporating film into my everyday life.
